October 2019

I had the opportunity to travel to Nepal for a school trip in 2019. I spent a week in the small agricultural village of Deusa, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. This area was largely untouched by tourism; there were no hotels, so I spent the week in an agricultural center and learned about the livelihood of the local community while helping with farming projects. This experience allowed me to familiarize myself with people in the village, using photography to capture their lives and stories, which would otherwise go untold, given the lack of technology and media in this isolated village. I also spent time in Kathmandu during this trip, where I photographed the vibrant culture and bustling atmosphere of the capital city.
